Bridgnorth Writers' Group is a varied collection of writers which meets from 7.30-10.00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month.

Our group includes five poets who have regularly been published in national magazines and been successful in national competitions, four published writers of short stories in various fields (literary, popular and science fiction) and one published and commissioned playwright. One of our members has had two novels published by Tindal Street Press.

We are not an elite group, and we welcome writers at all levels of experience. We are a popular and successful group, and we recognise the value of recruiting new members who provide fresh stimulus and new angles on writing. On the other hand, our meeting space is limited, and the work of the group depends on a settled atmosphere in which members feel confident to present their work and to comment on the work of others. We have had to restrict the rate at which we admit new members, so that there are now two meetings in the year (January and July) when they join us. In between those times, applicants are invited to attend for one-off taster sessions, to see whether or not the group suits them. We have a waiting list, and it may take months between applying to join and actually becoming a new member of the group.
